I Am A Swiss Army Knife…

Can I help you?

Which one of my tools shall we use?

There are approximately 400 Albino Redwoods known/documented in the United States and most are in Northern California. I love what they represent. How they were first thought parasitic but are now being explored as essential, removing toxins from the soil, which benefits their host community. Plus they are beautiful!

What I do: Writing, Editing, Consulting, and Coaching. Some examples of how I might assist you include:

Public Relations & Marketing Consulting for Artists, Arts Organizations, and Creativity-focused businesses: When I take the love I have for what you do and help the rest of the world find out about it by creating compelling press releases and articles and pitching journalists and media outlets on your behalf, and/or consulting on the best images and text for marketing your work on your website, and in your communications channels. Sometimes this work will include content development: copywriting, editing, and photography.

Developmental Editing & Writing Coaching: This could be help with birthing a short story, website content, or a book. You could have a draft or no draft (with no draft, we might do a few sessions to help you get a bead on generating material). I can help you see what you have, how the structure is working or not, and where to go next. Or/and I can dig in and restructure your piece for you. Depending on how much work that entails, this might veer into “Book Doctoring.” As the word “sessions” above implies, I offer assistance for, space for, inspiration and encouragement for writers and would-be writers, as well as entrepreneurs and artists who have to write about their work… I help you find your thread, your excitement, and generate from that place.

Business/Dating/Relationship/Life Coaching: I have two clients right now that exemplify the polar ends of the areas where I hold space and promote transformation: One current client is tech CEO who has founded his own software development and services company and is taking his business to the next level. We have worked on his personal mission, and his company’s mission and message, as well as his game plan for presenting to investors, in order to grow his staff and revenue. He calls me his “Business Therapist.”

On the opposite end of the spectrum, another client came to me for help with online dating. As many of you know, over the years, I have written or helped write online dating profiles, taken or art-directed shoots for dating app photos, and advised clients on email interactions and dates. With this client, our work quickly evolved to include ongoing relationship development support. Which is similarly about looking at personal mission, clarifying messaging/communication, and identifying next steps to achieve your goals.

All of it — dating coaching, business consulting, marketing consulting, public relations, writing therapy, and developmental editing — is about finding the thread, what wants to come through, aligning with that, clearing blocks, and taking steps forward.

Noticing, being present, honing inner listening skills and outer communication skills, reassessing where the goal is not met, and trying again. Iterate! (My design-thinking friends may appreciate that word.)

All of that to say, I’m here for you.

Let’s get on a call and see how I might help you.
